Houston, TX - An innocent motorist, 52-year old Tammy King Young, was killed by a driver who ran a red light. The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. at Antoine and West Gulf Bank Road in northwest Houston.
According to ABC 13, investigating police officers believe the red light runner, 28-year old Lohortenes Sanders, had just left a nearby apartment complex and was upset. While leaving, she hit a parked car and fled the scene. She then ran a red light and crashed into Ms. Young, who was traveling northbound on Antoine through the intersection. Ms. Young was ejected and then run over by her own vehicle.
Police officers reported the red light runner was transported to the hospital and evaluated to determine if she was intoxicated. Charges for criminally negligent homicide have been filed and the charges may be upgraded depending on the toxicology reports.
