Houston, TX - An 18-wheeler driver was killed when he crashed into a guardrail, went off the road and hit a tree. According to Click2Houston, the driver was an African-American male who lost control of his vehicle on the southbound lanes of North Freeway at FM 1960. The impact caused the 18-wheeler to be split into several pieces and cause a load of empty beer cans to be scattered throughout the accident scene.
Investigating officers believe the driver was not wearing a seat belt because he was ejected through the windshield upon impact. Officers are still investigating the cause of the accident, but suspect a tire blow out or fatigue to be contributing factors.
